BARAZA la Maaskofu Katoliki Nigeria limeeleza kuwa mauaji yanayofanywa na kundi la Waislamu wenye msimamo mkali nchini humo la Boko Haram ni ukatili dhidi ya binadamu.

Rais wa Baraza hilo, Askofu Mkuu Ignatius Ayau Kaigama alibainisha hayo katika taarifa iliyopatikana kutoka Vatican akielezea hali ilivyo katika nchi hiyo.

Askofu Mkuu Kaigama alisema mashambulizi hayo yanaendelea kuongezeka licha ya juhudi za Serikali ya Nigeria kupambana kwa dhati na vitendo vya kigaidi nchini humo. 

Alisema Boko Haram wanafanya mashambulizi ya kushtukiza kiasi kwamba inakuwa vigumu kwa vikosi vya ulinzi na usalama kudhibiti vitendo hivvyo vinavyoendelea kusababisha majanga kwa wananchi wengi wa Nigeria.

Askofu Mkuu Kaigama alisema Serikali haina budi kutekeleza wajibu wake wa kuhakikisha amani na utulivu vinarejea tena nchini Nigeria kwa kuzingatia utawala wa sheria.

Alisema hivi karibuni, Boko Haram waliua watu 35 waliokuwa kwenye msafara wa harusi na kueleza kuwa kundi hilo ni tishio kwa usalama, amani, utulivu na maendeleo ya wananchi wa Nigeria kwa sasa na kwa siku za usoni.

Rais huyo wa Baraza la Maaskofu Katoliki Nigeria alisema mwanzoni mashambulizi kama hayo yalikuwa yakielekezwa kwa Wakristo lakini sasa watu wengi wanaendelea kushambuliwa bila huruma.
